Photo: tea and teacupsThe tea plant is a member of the Camellia family native to China, Tibet and northern India. All tea comes from the same plant. The specific cultivation of the plant and the way the leaves are processed after harvesting determine the type of tea that is created. Each tea has a unique character and appealing preparation method.  In order to reap the greatest benefits from the hard labor of the tea pickers and blenders, we owe it to ourselves to become educated in the art of proper tea preparation.

Tea tasting is a science all its own.  The way in which the tea is brewed is very specific so that each cup is made in its own way. On Saturday afternoon, February 21, join us for an interactive tea-tasting program with Danielle Beaudette, certified tea specialist and proprietor of The Cozy Tea Cart, which will provide you information on the country of origin of different teas, their processing and the instruction you need to brew a proper pot of tea.  The cost for this program, which will be accompanied by a full afternoon tea, is $15. Watch for the Evite the last week of January.  RVSP and payment is required by February 12.
